2018 WDI Summer Fellows Start Their Work

At this time, four out of six 2018 WDI Summer Fellows have started their internship projects!  Andrea Arathoon, a School of Public Health MHSA candidate, and Matthew Carney, a first year dual degree MBA/MS candidate in the Erb program, are currently in their second week in Nairobi, Kenya and Kathmandu, Nepal, respectively.  Mason Benjamin started his first week working at WDI in Ann Arbor before heading out to Windhoek, Namibia.  Rebecca Grossman-Kahn also spent time working at WDI a couple weeks ago before leaving for Brazil.

The six graduate students who represent five schools at the University of Michigan, are:
  • Andrea Arathoon  -   MHSA candidate at the School of Public Health
  • Mason Benjamin  -  PharmD candidate at the College of Pharmacy
  • Matthew Carney  -  MBA/MS candidate, Ross School of Business and the School for Environment and Sustainability
  • Rebecca Grossman-Kahn  -  MD/MBA candidate, Medical School and Ross School of Business
  • Chris Owen  -  MBA/MS candidate, Ross School of Business and the School for Environment and Sustainability
  • Nadia Putri  -  MBA candidate, Ross School of Business .
They will be working with the following organizations, respectively:
  • Jacaranda Health
  • International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and WDI
  • Ecoprise
  • Plan International - Brazil
  • Michigan Academy for the Development of Entrepreneurs (MADE)
  • East Bali Cashew
